Our objective is to provide shelter for
those who have been displaced by conflict and natural disaster and are seeking
refuge in Europe. We do this by resourcing projects with funds, expertise,
volunteers, materials, and working in partnership with regional charities to
deliver appropriate shelters.
We are strictly
non-political with our sole purpose being to provide shelter for those in
desperate need. We look to provide stability so people can rest and, be warm and
dry, giving them the necessary living conditions to rebuild their strength and
start helping themselves. We are also encouraging he growth of co-operative and
cohesive communities by building shelters in clusters with shared cooking facilities.
Our current project - ‘A Home for Winter’ - is
focused on building at least 100 shelters for those who have found themselves trying
to survive in the refugee camp in Calais after being forced to leave their homeland.
We aim to be as transparent as possible and are using
this blog to show our activities, progress and use of raised funds. If you would like to
volunteer your time or skills please contact us at ahomeforwinter@gmail.com. Or
if you wish to donate to our cause please do so here.
Thank you.
The Team.
