NEW WAREHOUSE SPACE NEW WORKSHOP

07:28

With the increase of volunteers and items donated, the warehouse has become very crowded and busy. It is becoming increasingly difficult for us to work effectively, with space and calm at an increasing premium. We discovered there was another huge warehouse space ‘hidden’ around the back of the existing warehouse. The owner of the warehouse said we could use the space if we could get the broken door open. All we had to do was hot wire the metal shutters and then it was ours. Along with our friends from Médecins Sans Frontières‎ we grabbed a generator and some wires and hot-wired the door which too our excitement worked straight away.

The space was now ours, and it took the best part of today to lay out and set up the workshop. Although this meant a slight blip in production it now means over the coming weeks both the work rate and consistency will increase. So with a few signs, bins and other finishing touches tomorrow, it will be all up and running again better than ever somewhere that is warm and dry for our amazing team. This is important with winter drawing closer. As long as we have a consistent supply of materials we will be able to churn out shelters through the colder months.
